I am so excited to tell you my news!! I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by Adolina at Lessons From a Student Mom , and I am thrilled to accept it. It’s an honor to be nominated, especially by Adolina, because I just love her blog. Thank you, Adolina!!
The Liebster Award is a wonderful way for new bloggers to network and be recognized by other bloggers. It’s also a great way for bloggers to share with their readers the other new blogs they follow, enjoy and admire.
At the end of this post, I’ll be sharing with you the 5 bloggers I am nominating.
First, as part of my nomination, I was asked 5 questions, and I’ll answer them here:
1. What is your biggest accomplishment?
As a mom, my knee-jerk reaction is to say “My wonderful kids!!”. I actually think that’s true. My kids, however, think it’s becoming a lawyer. I was four years old when I decided i wanted to be a trial lawyer. I worked hard, and I am one of the few people who can say that they’re actually doing their dream job. Along with becoming a lawyer have come other accomplishments, such as being made Partner, and being accepted into prestigious professional organizations. Nothing compares to being sworn in as an attorney, though!
2. What is your favorite blog post written by you?
They all feel like my babies, but I would have to say it was this one about self care for caregivers. When you’re caring for others, it’s easy to fall down the rabbit hole, and neglect yourself. I learned that the hard way. I have two kids, and my parents need care too. I put all of that first, and BOY did I get sick!! I had to learn to take care of myself, and that doing so isn’t selfish, it’s self-preservation! It felt really good to be able to share what I learned with my readers!
3. Who is one person who has given you inspiration in your blogging journey?
I would have to say my Mom. She went through a rough time health-wise lately, and it was really scary!! She has spent her entire life caring for others, and there she was, in a care center, trying to figure out what her life was if she couldn’t care for others. One of the things we did that was eye opening to me was to make a list of all the things she liked to do, but couldn’t because of all the demands on her. We also wrote down things that she’s always wanted to do. It made me think about all the things I say “Someday I’ll…” to that I really want to do. Life is precious, and every moment counts. I knew it ways time to stop saying “someday” and start saying “Now, Damnit! I’ll find a way!” My Mom is the best person I know. I hate that she’s gone through this, but so grateful she is coming out the other side with a better sense of herself.
4. If you could only write about one thing, what would it be?
Okay, NOW I get to use my favorite answer: MY KIDS!!! I know I am biased, every mom is. But my kids astound me on a daily basis. Even though they drew me as their mom, they are growing up to be poised, intelligent, kind and thoughtful people. Best of all, they are without question, the two funniest human beings I have ever met. I love to laugh, and they keep me in stitches!!
5. Name your blogger crush. Who is your favorite blogger?
I am new to the blogging world, but I have spent a lot of time checking out cool blogs. I would have to say that my favorite blogger is Andrea from Somewhere Soulful. She’s young (probably half my age!) but, boy is she doing it right! She has a gorgeous site, fantastic Pictures, and she makes me laugh! An all around delight to read. If you haven’t checked it out yet, GO NOW!!
Kate from Team Up Girl
Sammy from The Rising Damsel
Brandi from Wearing Black To Brunch
Madison from Champagne on Sunday
Taryn from Peplums and Pushups
Congratulations to these very talented ladies! I HIGHLY recommend checking out their blogs! Thank you again to Adolina at Lessons From a Student Mom!! Check her out too!
